Kayaking Greece - sea kayaking holidays in Skopelos

Kayaking Greece is based in Skopelos, with its deserted beaches, rugged cliffs, sea caves and small islands, its the perfect location for exploring with us on our guided sea kayaking holidays in Skopelos.

We moved to the small village of Glossa on Skopelos almost 5 years ago, to get away from the craziness of life in a town just outside Birmingham.

The people of this small traditional village have been incredibly warm and welcoming, this combined with the beauty of Skopelos led us to buy a couple of sea kayaks to get out and explore.

Finally we are ready to show you the treasures of Skopelos and the small islands just off the coast, the climate here consists of long hot summers, but not too hot! and balmy evenings, perfect for dining alfresco while watching the sun sink into Skiathos.

Kayaking Greece is based in the traditional hillside village of Glossa and the small fishing port of Loutraki located to the north end of the island, where it is peaceful and tranquil.

Our sea kayaking holidays run from April to November and include single day trips, multi day tours circumnavigating Skopelos and expeditions to the neighboring islands, including island hopping in the marine conservation area. Our equipment is designed to cope with a wide variety of sea conditions and are carefully maintained, we have a selection of single and double seater kayaks, fitted with either rudders or skegs to help you go where you want to instead of going round in circles! Our kayaks are sit inside, stable and easy to paddle. Also provided are paddles, buoyancy aids, spray decks and dry bags. Enjoy on our sea kayaking holidays in Skopelos, early starts, or late finishes there's nothing better in my view than sitting peacefully in a kayak watching a new day dawn, or a wonderful sunset as the daylight draws to a close on one of those perfect days. Then we paddle back peacefully to a deserted beach for a well earned beer and tasty BBQ.

The coast line of Skopelos is the perfect location for an activity holiday in Greece, and consists of secret beaches, sea caves, tunnels and miles of rocks and cliffs. There are also small islands off the coast that are inhabited with a plethora of nesting sea birds, Hawks, Buzzards and the Eleanora falcon. Very often while paddling out to these islands the local pod of Dolphins will put in an appearance, along with our resident big old seal and sea turtles. During the spring and early summer we may be lucky enough to spot Whales and even an occasional Basking shark cruising effortlessly. Later in the season the Tuna appear, usually signified by huge flocks of Gulls trying to get their share of the bate fish that are being herded to the surface, the Tuna in their excitement come flying out of the water. If we're lucky enough to spot one of these feeding frenzies, get your camera ready as some of these stunning fish grow to more than 2 meter in length and weigh in at well over 100kg, but forget trying to keep up with them as these majestic creatures can swim at more than 40 miles per hour!
